Trust
How sponsorship works.
Cravd is free to use, and paid placements are part of how it will pay its way. These are the rules every one of them follows, written down before the first one runs.
The rules
Four rules, no exceptions
- 01
Money never changes a tier.
Tiers come only from ratings: people's own in the app, published reviews in our guides.
- 02
Anything paid is labelled “Sponsored” wherever it appears.
If a restaurant or brand paid for a place on Cravd, the word Sponsored sits on it, right where you see it.
- 03
Nothing paid ever appears in the friend feed.
Your Friends feed is where the people you follow post their Cravds. Nobody can pay their way into it.
- 04
Cravd never sells boosted posts, extra weight on anyone's ratings, or a way for a restaurant to hide a rating.
A restaurant can't bury a bad tier or buy a better one, at any price.
What a sponsor can buy
What paid placements look like
None run yet. The first ones will be these two, and anything added later follows the same four rules.
A Sponsored spot in search or on the map
Labelled Sponsored, and shown with the tiers people actually gave it.
A guide with a named sponsor
Labelled Sponsored, with the sponsor named at the top. They get no say in which spots make the guide or how they rank.
How spots get rated
Where the tiers come from
The guides and the app each have their own method, and sponsor money plays no part in either. Here’s how we pick spots.
